Don’t Let Your Mondays Ruin Your Sundays

If you happened to be walking through Brooklyn today, it’s likely you would’ve seen crowds headed toward the Atlantic Antic Street Fair stretching a mile up and down Atlantic Avenue.  Besides the belly dancers, street performers and live music there were kid friendly activities like storybook tellings and balloon animals.  As the second largest fair held in Brooklyn (over a million estimated to have attended in 2009), the food and drink seemed to dominate.  The smoky air from charcoal grills permeated through the crowd and drew the hunger out of each walker.  There were Italian Sausages, Mozz-Arepas and Lobster Rolls.  We stopped at Uncle Oscar’s Island Cuisine- Jerk Center.  The line was twenty deep-mostly waiting for jerk chicken.  They also served oxtails, curry chicken, rice and beans and mac and cheese.  If beer’s your thing, Six Point brewery strategically placed jockey box taps pouring fresh beer near all major food areas.  Bottom Line:  There’s nothing like a street fair to liven up your Sunday and make the Monday blues just a little further away.
